COVID-19 Updates
The California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), Cal/OSHA, and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) have established sites and issued coronavirus guidance. Resources include:
National Center on Law & Elder Rights (NCLER)
Older adults and people of all ages with compromised immune systems are particularly at risk if exposed to COVID-19. In the current national emergency, legal assistance to older adults is critical to securing and protecting life essentials, empowering older adults, and protecting their rights. The delivery of legal services must focus on minimizing risk to legal assistance staff and their clients while balancing the ongoing legal needs of the community.
The Administration for Community Living, in partnership with NCLER, has created a new document, Legal Assistance for Older Americans & COVID-19, for legal assistance programs to use while adjusting their policies and procedures to ensure the safety of their staff and their older adult clients. This document adds to the other FAQs and new resources that ACL has published for the aging and disability networks.
